2025: Play Projects and New Equipment

2025 has been a big year for the team here at The School Playground Company. In our commitment to bring quality playground equipment products to schools across the country, we’ve been able to work with some amazing and inspiring people in education.

Let’s look back at our 2025 play projects and the new additions to our equipment, including new ranges and more!

Do You Need More Inspiration for your Upcoming Playground Projects?

Shop LauncH

In order to improve the efficiency of our product delivery, in February 2025, we launched our sister site: shop.schoolplaygroundcompany.co.uk. In this shop, you can easily browse equipment for your school staff to install with minimal difficulty. This makes it easier to transform your playground. The shop categorises our products into ranges based on their function. Simplifying your search for the right project.

The shop also offers some new products and variations of existing equipment to suit different needs on the playground. For example, our smaller version of the iconic hobbit hut, designed specially as a den for EYFS students.

New Shop Products

We were very excited to introduce some of our favourite new designs to build fun and learning into every corner of the school playground. These new equipment pieces include new wavy mirrors, informational nature posters, and teepee shelters.

The addition of free-standing trim trail equipment is another part of our move to bring play to everybody. This trim trail variation allows teachers to design their own trails suitable for different age groups and stack them away neatly at the end of break time.

Each component is available as an individual purchase or in one bundle. This allows you to truly customise the active play experience, or in one bundle. In this way, schools can utilise their budgets more flexibly, which we know is a very important consideration.

Messy & Nature Play

In 2025, we have also begun to put more focus on equipment that goes beyond the traditional, introducing different forms of play that our students love! In addition to our sensory and active play equipment categories, we now have our full range featured on our new ‘Messy Play’ and ‘Nature Play’.

These pages showcase new playground equipment like mud kitchens, bug hotels and more. This helps school stakeholders understand the different ways that play can expand education and inspire new forms of learning. Forest school activities and outdoor learning are becoming more and more popular in schools, so we wanted to make sure you all had the full context of how best to provide a space for them on any size playground.

New Play Panel Range

Our play panels have also been updated, with a full new range of familiar favourites and innovative new games and activities to be discovered. See the full range in our all-new Brochure.

Our sensory play panels are a particular favourite, offering a unique, inclusive experience. Our new range includes new modular panels that allow schools to combine visual, auditory, and tactile sensory games and activities in one large panel, perfect for social play. With sparkling reflective balls, cog turning activities, and much more, these new panels have so much potential to bring something new to your playground.

Hinckley School Playground Project

One project we had the pleasure of working on this year was Hinckley Park School in Leicester. This school, local to our Hinckley office, needed a new range of equipment for their young learners. They were looking to provide many different play experiences for their students in their small playground. Our free-standing equipment was therefore perfect for them!

Freestanding trim trail components and mark-making panels can be easily moved away when play is over, leaving an open playground space. Therefore, students can enjoy a fun, active playground, creative outdoor lessons, and more at various times, simply by moving the equipment in and out of storage.

We were also able to provide a great range of other equipment for the school, including a covered sandpit, mud, kitchen, and even a mini Hobbit House den. The students love it, and so do the teachers!

Kineton Green Playground Project

We are proud of the total transformation that we achieved for the Kineton Green Primary as part of our work with the Summit Learning Trust. Their new playground comes with a vibrant new look and wider ranging equipment suitable for all different ages and abilities.

With brand new artificial grass and bright red rubber surfacing, this playground project is exciting and unique. The look is even complete with a roadway built into the play grass for children to play with and practice road safety.

Spread across the play field, each piece of equipment offers something unique. From the amazing wooden stage with a seating cube audience to the reading corner under the large sail shade, this playground has it all. For this project, we also built a bespoke learning shelter which has become a ‘Construction Zone’ for creative play and outdoor experimentation.

Inspections and Maintenance

For 2025, we’ve also updated what we do as part of our inspections and maintenance services. We offer a Free Initial Site Survey to get you started towards a safer playground! Our team has the experience and expertise to help you start your inspection and maintenance journey. Our team can offer inspections to the highest standards, even if it’s not installed by us.
